The Erin Cup is a series of weekly match play competitions amongst
two clubs or organizations on premiere links style golf courses in Ireland.
Each weekly competition will produce a winning team. The
annual champion will be presented the Erin Cup with their club name and
individual names engraved to display for one year. The Erin Cup
will travel from the current champion club to the new winning club
annually. Weekly competitions will be held from May through September.
The winning team from each weekly match will be entered for consideration
as the annual champion.
Team
A team will consist of 10 to 12 members with a designated captain.
10 members will represent each competitive round. The alternates each
day will complete a round on the course but will not count towards the match
results. A team may be a golf club, business or organization.
Matches
Four competitive rounds of golf will comprise the competition.
Round 1 Four ball match played on Enniscrone
Round 2 Foursomes match played on Lahinch
Round 3 Four ball match played on Ballybunion Cashen
Round 4 Singles match played on Waterville
Schedule
Day one Arrive in Shannon, Ireland and travel to Galway Bay Golf
and Country Club for a leisure round of golf. Check into hotel in
Galway for three nights.
Day two First competitive round at Enniscrone.
Day three Second competitive round of golf at Lahinch.
Day four This is a travel day from Galway to Killarney with a
leisure round of golf at Dromoland.
Day five Third competitive round of golf on Ballybunion Cashen course.
Day six Final competitive round of golf at Waterville followed by
a farewell awards dinner.
Day seven Transport to airport for flight home.
